Every Wednesday at 8pm.
Make it a date - Wednesday at eight!
The weekend of 26th - 27th April saw Havering Folk Club presenting two absolutely superb days of music in aid of a local girl, Maya Perrin-Skippen who needs to go to America urgently for treatment not available here. Read about her at www.mayaperrinskippen.com. Maya's dad Steve was able to join us for some of the time.

We had no fewer than five headline acts over the two days, namely Fiddlefit, who nearly set the house on fire with their playing.

Fiddlefit
They were followed by Triangle who hadn't visited for a while and gave a splendid performance too. So impressed were we that we've booked them as our December guest artists and they'll join us for our Christmas dinner; talk about getting organised early!

Sophie, Mim & Sue, aka Triangle
Andy Smythe came next with an impressive performance all round and finally Steve O'Kane and Fiona McBain. Totally different in style, they nevertheless present an entertaining and harmonious programme. We had a good number of our regular members doing floor spots as well as some newbies.
Sunday saw two of Havering's favourite guests, Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer headlining with more floor spots. They'll also be joining us for our Christmas dinner. All in all a full programme of superb music. Thanks to one and all who came along to make the weekend a success.

April 30th saw Louise "Ski" Jordan perform a splendid member's featured evening. A delightful high, clear soprano voice and warm stage presence, Ski's style is never derivative; she makes each song her own. Super stuff.

Another popular member, Alan Neville then has a member's special on May 7th. This promises to be an excellent evening too and as a sample of what you'll be missing if you don't come, click the Alan Neville video clip near the top of the page.

Guest artists on June 4th will be Suntrap. This will be the first time we've seen them at Havering, so another reason for coming along. Findout more about them at www.suntrap.org

In July we have two members' featured evenings. The first on Wednesday 2nd when the ever-popular Hillbilly Express Take the stage.

Then on Wednesday 16th Mikanora will appear along with their new band Balgores. We've only seen this line up once before for a two-song floor spot, so a longer performance is something to look forward to.

Guest artists on August 6th will be Steve O'Kane and Fiona McBain. Another superb evening should be in store. Visit www.steveokane.co.uk to find out more.

"I travel the country a great deal and always look on the web to find a folk club or music session close to my hotel. So I have visited dozens during the past few years and without doubt the friendliest is Havering FC. I knew 5 people by name before I sat down with my pint. Excellent night - keep up the good work!" Mike Lydiatt - Sheffield
I must say, I was incredibly impressed with the breadth of music you guys delivered. If anyone was looking for a definition of "eclectic", I think I would have to point them to a club which can cover everything from George Formby to Ralph Vaughan Williams in the space of two and a
half hours! Ah, that would be Havering Folk Club, then!
Thanks very much for having us, and we look forward to coming again soon. Sue, Mim & Sophie aka Triangle www.trianglemusic.info
